DESIGN QUESTION:

How can we improve the health care delivery experience between health providers and patients in the monitoring and prevention stage?

TARGETED DEMOGRAPHIC:

Patients between 18-100 years of age that are covered by health insurance

Research Methods

Interviews

Healthcare providers were formally interviewed for viewpoints on how to improve the patient/provider care gap

Review of Literature

The entire group spent hours reading articles and papers related to the patient/healthcare provider time dilemma, and how to motivate people to improve themselves

Surveys

A survey with variety of health and wellness questions was send out, ~70 people responded

Research Findings

  • Patients’ health goals are impeded by busy schedules and lack of understanding, support, or motivation
  • Doctors may contribute to the problem by interrupting or using confusing medical terminology
  • Technology is often not used to its full potential
  • Money and will for change is limited
